A Little Bit of Sugar Anyone?
Saturday was our Annual Gingerbread House Party at a dear friend of our family's home. God Bless Melanie - by the end of the evening, her entire kitchen is covered in every kind of colorful candy mortared to the surface with icing! Whew! I think that I would be a bit batty hosting this type of par-tay, as it is mostly the kiddos as the architects and designers, ranging in ages from 3 to 15! Can I just say that I love the fact that my teenage cousin and her boyfriend continue to join us and look forward to this event?! Very cool kids! And, that goes for all of 'em!!

Oh my! Keep my children away from all that sugar! Do you know we've never made a gingerbread house? I've never done it either...maybe someday, in another's home...
How fun! My neighbor does this with her grandchildren every year. We've participated by helping her with the little ones.
My daughter did it with her fiance's niece and nephew this year too.
Hugs,

Hi Jenny!
Oh I just LOVE gingerbread houses, how wonderful to all get together too! What pretty ones too!!
Happy Holidays! Cynthia
Jenny, Thanks so much for your sweet comments! Hmmmm, yes I'm thinking that the cards can be a little too stiff to work with. I use magazine paper at it seems to work. I know some people even use tissue thin paper, but I didn't have any like that. Plus I wanted the "words" on it too :)
I bake a few things during the holidays, lots of cupcakes and for cookies it's traditional Sugar cookies mostly, then I leave it to the kids to decorate wildly ;) Hope you have a great holiday season!! xo

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. The gingerbread houses look great. I decorated cookies with the nine & ten year old girls from our church at my house this week. It was lots of fun and I was also left with a messy kitchen. But the mess is so worth it to see the joy on the kid's faces. It's nice to meet you.

Absolutely devine photos of what looks to be an absolute blast. Anything that has to do with sweets, I'm in. But I do have to admit to never actually baking a Gingerbread House. I think I would probably eat all the fixins before I put the little house together.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
xo Cathy
